An unpretentious ornamental plant from the Cruciferous family, cultivated as a biennial, up to 80 cm high. It blooms from late May to August.
Pink flowers are collected in cylindrical brushes, have a pleasantly strong aroma in the evening and at night. Light-requiring, but can grow in partial shade.
Prefers areas with loose, fairly fertile, non-acidic soil. Winters without shelter.
Grow by direct sowing in the ground in May-June. Used for planting in groups along paths and in evening flower beds, as well as for cutting.

Eng.: Corn poppy, corn rose, field poppy, Flanders poppy, coquelicot.
