Harilik papaia Carica papaya
The plant usually reproduces by seeds. Five different types of flowers have been found in papaya. There are typically female flowers with unfused petals and no stamens at all. Male flowers are much smaller than female flowers, which contain 10 well-developed stamens. Their gynoecium is rudimentary and completely non-functional. Flowers of the third type are bisexual; they have equally well-developed stamens.
