Livistona "Nefrit"
Livistona "Nefrit"
Tropical plant from the palm family. In nature, Liviston is a tall tree with a columnar trunk and large, fan-shaped leaves. In room conditions, this palm practically does not form a trunk, grows slowly, reaching a maximum height of 1.5-2 m, does not bloom. It is very decorative due to fan-shaped, bright green leaves with gracefully curved blades on long petioles. The plant spreads out wide and needs a lot of space. Prefers well-lit places, without exposure to direct sunlight.
For livistonia, it is important to regularly spray the leaves, otherwise they dry out. In summer, it is advisable to take the palm tree out into the fresh air and water it abundantly with water, in winter it should be installed in bright, cool rooms, reducing watering, but not allowing the coma to dry out.
Plants are propagated by seeds or side shoots. For seed propagation, pre-soaked seeds are planted to a depth of 1 cm with soil from a mixture of soddy, leafy, humus soil and coarse river sand and covered with glass or polyethylene. Ventilate regularly. Shoots appear within 3 months. Seedlings that have grown stronger are planted in separate pots. Transplantation, as necessary, is carried out in the spring in a fresh soil mixture.
