Denseflower mullein (Aarons Rod) mix
Large-flowered Mullein mix - Verbascum densiflorum = Verbascum thapsiforme.
A biennial herbaceous plant of the Scrophulariaceae family, up to 1.5-1.8 m high. Thanks to its silvery-tomentose soft leaves, it received a second name - "bear's ears".
It has a rosette of large basal leaves, which are crowned with powerful arrows of pyramidal inflorescences.
It blooms from June for 2-3 months, with golden-yellow flowers up to 2 cm in diameter.
Requires dry, sandy or rocky soil and a sunny location.
The seeds are very small. In autumn or spring, they are sown on the surface of the soil or to a depth of no more than 1 cm. The seedlings are thinned out, leaving a distance of 20 cm between plants.
In August-September, the plants are transplanted together with a lump of earth to a permanent place after 40 cm.
It is used as a solitaire in the background of a mixroborder, in single and group plantings, in large rocky gardens.
