Aftercare Instructions: plant in ordinary garden soil.

Homeland: Caucasus. Steppes, rocky soils.
The growth pattern is bushy, unstable, shoots fall on each other. Height 140-200 cm. The leaf is very large, heart-shaped, purple when blooming, later shiny, black-green. Inflorescences are large branched panicles of countless small white, sharply scented flowers.
Location: prefers to grow in a sunny, warm place, but tolerates partial shade. The site should be protected from strong winds.
Soil: moderately dry, fresh, well supplied with nutrients. Does not tolerate damp areas!
Care: fertilize well, mainly with mineral fertilizers. Can be tied up, cut after flowering to avoid excessive self-seeding. In the fall, dig around the bushes if you want to limit the growth of the plant.
Reproduction: by shoots. Easy to grow from seeds that need to be sown before winter, as they need winter stratification. These are long-lived plants, reaching their peak only 3 years after planting.
Application: crambe is a large plant that requires a certain amount of space, so it should be planted singly (or in a group of 2-3 specimens) against the background of a lawn or low-growing groundcover species. They are not suitable for bouquets due to the strong smell of flowers, although they stand for a long time in water.
Partners: look good with roses.
