Staghorn Sumac "Kruzhevnoje Oblako"
Frost-resistant to -29°С, drought-resistant deciduous tree up to 4 m high. Acetic sumac will become a very decorative and unusual decoration of your garden due to its large, unpaired foliage, which gives the impression of a miniature exotic palm tree. A dioecious tree up to 4 m tall with an openwork crown and thick, fluffy shoots of a light brown color. Very large velvety leaves up to 50 cm long (11-31 leaves) dark green in summer and orange or burgundy in autumn. Small flowers are collected in dense pyramidal panicles up to 20 cm. The fruits are spherical drupes with red bristly pubescence and adorn the plant until the spring. Acetic sumac is ideal for single and group plantings, landscaping rocky hills and fixing soils subject to wind and water erosion.
Agrotechnics: sumac is a photophilous plant that prefers well-drained, moderately moist soils. Before sowing, the seeds must be soaked in hot water for 2-3 hours, then a 2-month cold stratification should be carried out. Annual plants are planted in the ground. Further care consists in careful loosening and top dressing. Only young plants should be watered and covered for the winter.
