Carlina acaulis ssp. simplex
Physical Characteristics.
Use: indispensable for dry arrangement. Looks like an unusual "bush" before flowering. Carlina is especially good as a single plant against a stone background.
Annual, biennial or perennial rhizomatous plants. The leaves are prickly, bristly or prickly. The flowers are small, all tubular, white, yellowish or purple, collected in a typical inflorescence for the family - a single basket, or they form a racemose inflorescence.
