Suur läätspuu Caragana arborescens
The Siberian Pea Shrub, is a large rounded shrub that is well adapted to exposed, cold, dry and other difficult sites. It has showy yellow pea like flowers that appear in late May. When planting for hedge, place plants about 4-5 feet apart. They are deciduous and have low water requirements and can be grown as a trees if not trimmed back. Caragana can reach a height of 12 feet or more on the most favorable sites. Typically, it has a moderate to fast growth rate, being able to grow one to three feet during the first year after trimming. Seeds germinate in 1 to 2 weeks.
