* Is it possible to plant any herbaceous plants next to fruit trees?
Yes and no. If the tree is very young, its trunk circle should be at least 1 m in diameter and remain free.
Otherwise, plants planted next to the stem will take away water and nutrients from the fruit tree. For an adult tree, such a neighbourhood does not threaten anything.
Annual flower crops even have a positive effect on their viability and fruiting, as their flowers attract beneficial insects.
And such odorous annual plants as nasturtium, calendula and marigolds repel above-ground and soil pests.
