Sowing.
Asters can be grown by sowing seeds in open ground (under film) at the end of April, with subsequent thinning of seedlings, or by the seedling method. For seedlings, asters are sown in late March or early April indoors. Crops are grown at a temperature of +15+18°C. With the appearance of the first pair of true leaves, the seedlings are pricked out according to a 6x6 cm scheme. Seedlings are planted in open ground at the end of May. The distance between plants is 20 cm for low-growing varieties, and 30-35 cm for tall ones.
Care.
Aster prefers a sunny place protected from the wind, with well-drained and fertilized soil, but strictly without fresh manure. Care consists of regular watering, careful loosening of the soil, and feeding.
Flowering: July - September.
