Chinese bellflower (mix) - Platycodon grandiflorus.
Charming, compact hardy plant with spherical buds that open into large, long-flowering bells.
It is used in a mixborder, an alpine hill. Excellent pot culture for the garden, balcony and home.
Sowing: March-April for seedlings on the surface of wet compost, lightly sprinkling. Cover with polyethylene film to preserve humidity and keep at +22°C.
Shoots appear on the 6-10th day. After the appearance of the second true leaf, the plants dive. Seedlings are planted in open ground in June at a distance of 25-30 cm.
When growing in a pot culture, pots with a diameter of 9-11 cm are used, 2-3 plants are placed in each pot. To obtain flowering plants in winter, seeds are sown in May-June.
Prefers light, fertile soil combined with moderate temperatures, regular watering and fertilizing. For top dressing, a special complex water-soluble mineral fertilizer is used. It must be remembered that adult plants do not tolerate transplanting and dividing bushes.
Flowering: 3 months after germination.

Platycodon grandyflorus

The cultivation and reproduction of platycodon have their own characteristics: platycodon reproduces only by seeds, and it must be planted immediately in a permanent place, since the structure of the root system does not allow it to transfer the transplant without harming itself.
Feeding with mineral fertilizers and mulched loose organic matter (peat, manure and leaf humus).
An important nuance: the place where the plants are planted cannot be dug up.

Platycodon grandiflorus
Chinese bellflower, balloon flower.
