Koeleria glauca

Location: likes moderately dry, loose soils with a neutral and slightly alkaline reaction and light, sunny places.
Care: like other short-lived (although related to perennials) plants, Koeleria requires periodic, once every 2-3 years, division of the bushes. Faded inflorescences are cut off in the second half of summer or in the fall. In the fall, it is advisable to mulch the soil around the plant.
Propagation: by seeds and division of bushes in spring or in the second half of summer.
Use: Blue Hair Grass is perfect for cultivation in rock gardens, low mixborders. Koeleria clumps look very beautiful against the background of a lawn.
It is most decorative during the flowering and fruiting period. Forms dense turf. The leaves of sterile shoots are 5-12 cm long, straight or slightly sickle-shaped, glaucous, hard, slightly curled. Panicles are cylindrical, lobed, spikelets are 4-5 cm. Prefers sandy soils and dry sunny places. Can be used for single plantings and creating alpine slides.
