Italian compact variety of Brussels sprouts "Mezzo Nano".
Up to 30 heads per plant.
Heads of cabbage ripen 100-120 days after planting in the ground. The plant is medium-sized, 20-30 oval heads of cabbage are formed on the stem, 8-14 g each, with a total weight of up to 500 g.
The taste qualities are very good. Used in the autumn and autumn-winter periods for fresh consumption, canning and freezing. The variety is resistant to frost.
It acquires a more pleasant taste when it is harvested after a slight frost. This makes the sprouts sweeter. Use a 3-year crop rotation to avoid diseases. Brussels sprouts are low in calories, but very useful: vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B11, E and a large amount of vitamin C.
As well as minerals: calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum and zinc. Brussels sprouts also contain the amino acid tryptophan, are high in fibre, and are very low in calories.
It can be fried, baked, stewed, steamed and used in soups and mashed potatoes. Brussels sprouts pair very well with potatoes, cheese, onions, nutmeg, curry powder, eggs, mushrooms, pasta, chicken, ginger, beef, pork, apple, mustard, ground beef, and chorizo. And with various vegetables: lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, sweet peppers and leeks.
