Productive hybrid variety for summer harvest. Mid-season. Holds up well to heat. Plants are very vigorous, lush, with a powerful root system.
Vegetation period 75-85 days. Inflorescences are white, dense, weighing 1.6-2.0 kg. Use fresh, canned, frozen.
Useful information: this is a very labor-intensive culture, and it is very rarely possible to grow snow-white heads of cabbage.
Cauliflower is a very popular vegetable. Varieties with green heads are still rare. They contain more vitamins than varieties with white heads.
Recently, varieties with purple and yellow heads of cabbage have appeared, however, their sizes are very small.
Requirements: normally moist, medium-heavy soil with a predominance of clay content, sufficiently rich in humus is ideal.
It is important that it is sufficiently alkaline (pH = 7). In regions with colder climates, the best results are when grown in summer.
Sowing: sow as early as possible: in the greenhouse from the end of January, on the windowsill - from mid-February. Germination temperature +12+15°C, later - a little lower.
Growth inhibition should be avoided as this may lead to premature flowering. For summer cultivation, direct sowing in open ground can be started in mid-May.
It is also recommended to grow seedlings under glass, for example in a greenhouse, or to sow on an additional bed, covering the seeds with a film.
For autumn cultivation, sowing is carried out from late May to late June. Special varieties of cauliflower in regions with a climate that allows grape cultivation can be sown in August and left for the winter.
Landing: about the same as in the case of white cabbage. Young plants should not be too large when planted in the garden in mid-May.
The area occupied by the plant is: for early varieties - 50 x 50 cm, for autumn - up to 70 x 70 cm.
Leaving: loosening of the soil and watering are necessary. Mulching is recommended.
To keep the heads of cabbage beautiful and white, they are protected from ultraviolet radiation by breaking 2-3 leaves and covering the head with them. You can tie the leaves over the head with an elastic band.
Harvest: early varieties are ready for harvest from mid-July. In hot weather, cauliflower should not be left in the garden for too long, otherwise the head loses its elasticity, withers and darkens.
The most opportune moment is when the head of cabbage becomes a little loose at the edges.
Biological protection: the same as in the case of white cabbage. The main threat comes from insects. As a preventive measure, you can use a special protective mesh.
