Creeping Daisy (Swamp Chrysanthemum) "Snowland" - Chrysanthemum paludosum = Leucanthemum paludosum = Hymenostemma paludosum.
Miniature Marguerites! A white flowering carpet for borders and pots.
A charming low-growing "daisy" (15-25 cm tall) originating from Spain and Portugal. It forms compact, heavily branched bushes completely covered with blooms.
Characteristics:
Flowers: numerous baskets up to 4 cm in diameter. Petals are snow-white with a bright yellow, sunny center. Blooms are mostly simple, rarely semi-double.
Leaves: grey-green, carved, creating a beautiful lacy background.
Flowering: continuous and abundant from late June until deep autumn frosts.
Variety value:
1. Low Maintenance: No need to remove faded flowers — they are hidden by new buds, keeping the bush looking neat.
2. Self-seeding: A "plant and forget" flower! It readily self-seeds, providing sturdy seedlings the following spring that often bloom earlier than sown ones.
3. Landscape design: Perfect for "sunny islands" on lawns, edging paths, rock gardens, and balcony boxes.
Agrotechnics:
The plant loves light (tolerates partial shade) and moisture but hates standing water (drainage is needed).
Sowing: For transplants in March-April (surface sowing). Germination takes 10-18 days. Plant outdoors in early June.
Important: Adult plants do not fear autumn frosts, but young indoor seedlings are very tender and die at the slightest frost.
Care: Requires abundant watering during hot weather. Fertilizing stimulates blooming. Bushes expand quickly — give them space (20-25 cm).
1.0 g = 1335 seeds.
