Dahlia-flowered Zinnia "Scarlet Flame" - Zinnia elegans dahliaflora.
The fiery heart of your garden!
One of the most popular zinnia varieties among flower growers. This is a powerful plant (height 80-90 cm) with huge double inflorescences (12-15 cm in diameter) of rich scarlet colour.
Ideal for creating bright accents in variegated flower beds, on high flowerbeds and borders.
In cutting — a real champion: flowers stand in water for a very long time, maintaining freshness and brightness.
Agrotechnics.
Sowing: March-April for seedlings. Seeding depth 0.5-1 cm. Seedlings are pricked out 3-4 weeks after germination. Seedlings are planted in open ground when the threat of recurrent frosts has passed (zinnia is afraid of the cold!). Distance between plants 40 cm.
Location: prefers sunny areas protected from winds. The soil should be drained, neutral, rich in humus and mineral elements.
Care: the plant is drought-resistant, but during prolonged drought, watering at the root is required (avoid water getting on the flowers). Fertilizing every 2-4 weeks with a solution of complex mineral fertilizer.
Flowering: from July to the first frost.
Tip: regular removal of faded inflorescences stimulates the formation of new buds and makes flowering more lush.
Partners: goes well with calendula, marigolds, small-flowered chrysanthemums, and verbena.

Did you know that... Zinnia is a true "Space Flower". In January 2016, aboard the International Space Station (ISS), a zinnia bloomed as part of NASA's "Veggie" experiment. It became the first flowering plant to successfully complete a full vegetation and blooming cycle in zero gravity, proving its incredible resilience.
