Spike Gayfeather "Floristan White" - Liatris spicata.
Amazing arrows, densely covered with white, small and fluffy flowers that open from the bottom up.
The flowers are snow-white, collected in a spike-shaped inflorescence up to 35 cm long. The stems are simple, 50-80 cm high.
Blooms in June-July for 35-40 days. Grows well in a sunny, warm or hot place. To prolong flowering, the upper part of the inflorescence can be cut off
The soil is moderately dry, loose, rich in nutrients. On heavy and damp soils the plant rots.
It is propagated by dividing the bush and by seeds, which are sown for seedlings in March-April. Shoots appear in 20-30 days, and seedlings bloom in the second year.
Liatris has tuberous rhizomes that can be easily divided: division is recommended every 3 years (in May or August).
Winter hardiness zones: Z3 - Z8.
