Dill "Herkules" (100 g)
Dill "Herkules".
Aromatic greens and high yield!
Mid-season variety: 40-45 days to harvest for greens and 65-70 days to flowering (umbrella formation).
Characteristics:
* Yield: With multiple sowings and proper agricultural techniques, you can get up to 10 kg of green mass per 1 sq. m (up to 7 kg for spices).
* Agrotechnics: Cold-resistant, light-loving plant. Prefers fertile, moist soils.
SECRETS OF LUSH DILL (Gardener's Guide):
Almost everyone plants dill, but not everyone gets it thick and juicy green. Sometimes it grows thin, yellow, or turns red. Here are the main rules for success:
1. Soil and Location.
Dill grows green only on soil rich in organic matter. Do not lime the soil or add fresh ash before sowing — this makes dill turn red. Do not plant in the shade — plants will stretch and become pale.
2. Seed Preparation.
Dill seeds are saturated with essential oils that inhibit germination. Before planting, wash them in hot water (+48+50°C) for about 30 minutes, then cool and dry. This will significantly speed up germination.
3. Sowing.
You can sow very early (April 1-10) even on the ice crust (using dry seeds). The main sowing is April 20-25. It is better to sow not in a narrow line, but in a wide furrow (5 cm) in a zigzag pattern — this gives the plants more space. Seeding depth is 1-2 cm. Cover with humus or peat and do not water again until germination to prevent crust formation.
4. Watering and Care.
The main secret of tender greens is moisture. If the soil dries out, dill will quickly bolt (go to seed). Water once a week, and twice in hot weather. Important: it is better not to fertilize the greens during growth (add all nutrients to the soil before sowing).
5. Harvest Conveyor.
Repeat sowings every 15-20 days. The last sowing date is August 20.
