Frost-resistant, beautiful and elegant perennial!
Light-loving, drought-resistant, undemanding to the soil. Baskets of medium fullness, intense color, with a convex core.
A perennial from the Asteraceae family with gorgeous inflorescences decorated with feather-shaped bracts of bright purple color.
A very unusual result of long-term selection from Eugen Schleipfer: in the first growing season, ordinary single flowers appear, and in the second year of life, a very high percentage of beautiful “caps” are obtained on strong stems (some flowers can even be completely double, with variability in variations).
Introduced by JELITTO PERNNIAL SEEDS in 2004.
Flowering plant height: 120 cm.
Distance between plants: 60 cm.
Flower colour: purple-red.
Natural flowering period: July - September.
Soil requirements: well-drained, average fertility.
Winter hardiness zones: Z3 - Z8.
The plants are arranged in groups against the lawn and used as cut flowers.
1 gram = 250-280 seeds.
Distinguished by its abundant and long-lasting flowering (from July to frost), rudbeckia is irreplaceable in any corner of the garden: in flower beds, in the border, in groups against the background of the lawn. Large basket inflorescences can maintain an attractive appearance for a long period.
Used for cutting, for flower arrangements and dry bouquets.
Sowing: April in open ground or February-March for seedlings in a loose soil mixture containing turf soil, neutralized peat and coarse, clean sand in a ratio of 3:1:0.5. Coarse sand is poured at the bottom in a layer of 1-2 cm for drainage, above - an earth mixture, and sterile sand in a layer of 0.5 cm is poured on it. All this is pressed with a tamper and spilled with a pink solution of potassium permanganate. After a couple of hours, sowing is carried out on the surface of wet compost, covered with glass (or plastic film) and kept at a temperature of +18+20 °C for 5-7 days. Next, the crops are placed in the refrigerator (for about two to three weeks), regularly ventilated and moistened. Then the crops are again transferred to room conditions, placed closer to the light and kept at a very high temperature (+27+30 °C). The glass is not removed until the cotyledon leaves appear. When the seedlings grow up, they are picked and grown at a lower temperature (+12+14 °C). They are planted in a permanent place after the end of spring frosts.
Care: prefers sunny places with nutritious, well-cultivated soil. It responds well to fertilizing with a solution of complex mineral fertilizer. At the end of the season, the stems are cut off at the root.
Flowering: July – October (in the second year).
Ideal companions are various cereals, autumn asters, and salvia.
1 gram = 2500 seeds.
