Eggplant "Kamo".
An heirloom variety from the Kamo region in Japan.
It produces pear-shaped fruits with dark purple, almost black skin.
Fruit size: from 10 to 15 cm.
Intended for home cooking and preserving.
Grown through seedlings both in open and protected ground.
Seeds are sown 60-70 days before planting in the ground. The optimal soil temperature for seed germination is +25...+28°C.
In the phase of 1-2 true leaves, the seedlings are pricked out. Seedlings are transplanted into the ground after the threat of frost has passed. No more than 5 plants are placed per 1 m2.
Further care involves regular feeding, weeding, and loosening.
