To harvest big roots sow from end or April till June 25-30 seeds per meter. Sowing depth is 2,0-2,5 cm. Good for storage and high-yielding variety.
* Weeding carrots without hassle.
Carrot seeds germinate slowly, and weeds outpace them.
When weeding, some of the hatched seeds are pulled out, and the shoots are sparse. To avoid this, you don’t have to weed the carrots, but wait until the first true leaf appears, and on a warm sunny day, spray the shoots with pure kerosene from a spray bottle (100 g per 1 m2): kerosene has a detrimental effect on weeds, but it does not harm carrots (by the way, this effect was also noticed at the Luunja state farm, which was located in close proximity to the Soviet military airfield in Tartu, when, when landing, planes dropped excess ballast in the form of aviation kerosene). After 3 days, the crops will be cleared of all weeds. After 10-12 days, when the second true carrot leaf appears (if the weeds sprout again), spraying can be repeated, and after a few days, if the crops are dense, they can be thinned out.
