Root Parsley "Osborne" — Petroselinum crispum convar. radicosum.
Tasty and aromatic seasoning.
A medium-late variety (180–195 days), specifically designed for long-term winter storage. It forms uniform, high-quality cylindrical-type roots, reaching a length of 22–25 cm.
The variety is characterized by a high content of vitamins, essential oils, and dry matter. The flesh is white, firm, and has excellent taste qualities. Intended for fresh use (in soups, salads) and for canning/preserving.
1 gram = 800 seeds.
Growing conditions.
Seeds begin to germinate at a soil temperature of +3+4 °C; seedlings appear in 15–20 days (parsley germinates slowly). The crop loves light and moisture, but does not tolerate waterlogging or stagnant water.
Plant on loose, deeply cultivated, fertile soils. Planting scheme: 20 x 10 cm.
Agrotechnical calendar:
Sowing: April (IV).
Harvest: September-October (IX-X).
Companion planting: radishes, spinach, tomatoes, onions, and garlic grow well next to root parsley. Tip: since parsley seeds germinate very slowly, it is recommended to mix them with fast-growing radish or lettuce seeds (as marker plants). This will allow you to mark the rows much earlier and start cultivating between rows before the parsley emerges.
