Marrow "Lungo Bianco".
An early-ripening variety (38-42 days from germination).
Characteristics:
* Plant type: Long-vined / trailing (vine length 2-2.5 m). Requires more space than bush varieties.
* Fruits: Elongated-cylindrical, 18-22 cm long.
* Weight: Average 0.6-0.8 kg.
Cultivation:
Grown via seedlings (sow in April) or direct sowing into the ground (late May - June). Responds well to organic fertilizers.

THE HARVEST SECRET
To maximize yield, follow these rules:
1. The First Cut. Cut the first 2-3 young fruits when they reach 12-15 cm. This stimulates the plant to continue fruiting.
2. Don't Wait. Never leave a zucchini on the bush until it fully matures (starts to turn yellow). The plant will focus energy on seed production and "think" its reproduction mission is complete. Yield will drop drastically from 2 fruits a day to 1-2 a week.
3. Optimal Size. Harvest young (no more than 20 cm). They taste better, and the plant will keep producing new ovaries.
4. Technique. Cut fruits with a sharp knife; do not break them off to avoid damaging the vine.

Important: Stop watering 1.5 weeks before the mass harvest intended for storage. Watery zucchini store poorly and rot quickly.

Did you know that ... the best predecessors of zucchini are potatoes, cabbage, legumes, root crops.
