LETTUCE "AUSTRALISCHE GELE" - Lactuca sativa.
A medium-early, variety of fast-growing leaf lettuce. Vegetation period is 50-60 days. The leaves are crispy, wavy, regrow after cutting.
Appreciated for their pleasant taste. Can be sown in greenhouse and outdoors. 1.0 g contains approximately 800-1100 seeds.
Agrotechnics.
The best predecessors for lettuce are cabbage and potatoes, for which organic fertilizers were applied. In the fall, plowing or digging is carried out. In the spring, a complex fertilizer is applied, providing the necessary nutrition for vegetable crops. Seeds are sown in open ground in early April in wide rows with row spacing of 60-70 cm. The sowing depth is 1.5-2 cm. Rolling is carried out before and after sowing.
When dense shoots appear, thinning is carried out: in the phase of one true leaf at a distance of 5-7 cm and 2-3 weeks after sowing, leaving a distance of 15-20 cm between plants. After thinning, fertilizing with a solution of complex fertilizer is carried out.
Care consists of loosening the row spacing and watering. Watering is carried out along furrows, trying to avoid water getting on the leaves of the plants.
