This species of kermek grows wild in the Canary Islands, where it has also been planted in gardens, for example, along with petunias.
It produces large, dense, and highly decorative inflorescences, which florists readily use for summer bouquets. For this purpose, the plant has been cultivated in nurseries and greenhouses, propagated by seed. The tall stems of the kermek allow it to be incorporated into cut flower arrangements of any size.
Sowing seeds: February-March. To do this, soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours, then sow them in seedling trays in a warm room. It takes at least 4 months from germination to harvesting.
Young plants are planted outdoors only in midsummer. In colder regions, it's best to grow this plant in a glass greenhouse, otherwise flowering may never occur.
