Watermelon "Megacrimson" F1
Watermelon "Megacrimson" F1.
Mid-early hybrid of the "Crimson Sweet" variety (from germination to harvest 85 days). Fruits are oval. Weight from 12 to 14 kg.
The flesh is red, very sweet and aromatic. Disease resistant.
Agrotechnics: watermelon is grown in open ground and greenhouses, on light, air- and water-permeable soils.
Sowing is approximately in May, when the soil warms up to a depth of 8-10 cm to +15+16 °C.
Planting pattern 140x100. In greenhouses 70x70, using trellises (fruits can be hung in nets).
Before sowing, the seeds are treated in a solution of potassium permanganate, then washed with clean water.
Seedling cultivation is also used. In this case, the seedlings are planted after the last frosts at the age of 3-4 true leaves. As the plants grow, they are formed into one stem, removing the lateral shoots and leaving 2-3 ovaries on it (the rest are removed). Further care consists of moderate watering, loosening, fertilizing and sprinkling the vines to protect them from being turned over by the wind.
