Morning glory "Imperial" (mixed colors) - Ipomoea tricolor.
A very energetic assistant for decorating vertical surfaces and flowerpots!
Climbing annual. Height 250-300 cm. Flower diameter 5-8 cm.
Its luxurious gramophones flash like bright lights in a sea of green foliage. Blooming is abundant and long-lasting (until late autumn).
The plant can climb any support and weave a living carpet of astonishing beauty in a short time. This is why it finds such a wide variety of uses and makes a worthy addition to retaining walls, gazebos, and even balcony containers and planters.
Sowing: in May in a permanent place to a depth of no more than 1.0 cm.
The seeds require pre-sowing treatment: soak them in a damp cloth for 3-4 hours before sowing, then break the seed coat by chipping or sanding. Seedlings emerge in 10-15 days; thin the seedlings, maintaining a distance of 40-50 cm between plants.
Care: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil, a sunny location, and watering (when the soil dries out) and fertilizing. Use a complex mineral fertilizer for fertilizing.
Flowering: from late June until late autumn.
1.0 g = 40-50 seeds.

Care instructions.
Light and warmth are all the morning glory needs. It doesn't tolerate even light frost. A windless planting site is also desirable.
Soil: Loose, but moderately nutritious. If soil is too fertile, the morning glory will become overweight, detrimental to flowering. Also, be moderate with nitrogen fertilizers; too much will only cause the morning glory to grow foliage. Water regularly, but avoid stagnant water. Wire, fishing line, wire, or mesh are suitable for supporting the morning glory.
Propagation: Sow seeds in May, directly to the permanent location, planting 2-3 seeds per hole. Seedlings are grown in March-April and can be planted directly in peat pots, as morning glory does not like transplanting. For quick germination, soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Seedlings will appear in a week or two. As the plants grow, insert twigs near each one; this vine requires support from infancy. Morning glory is planted directly in the ground in a peat pot, spacing 15-20 cm between plants.
The best planting location is the south side of the house. By midsummer, morning glory can completely cover the wall of the house. It grows well on balconies and windowsills in sunny, wind-free areas. It does not transplant well.
Diseases: The most common is tuber rot. This occurs due to stagnant water or excessive moisture.

Eng.: Tall Morning Glory. Bot. syn.: Pharbitis diversifolius, Convolvulus dumetorum, Convolvulus glaucescens, Convolvulus pauciflorus, Convolvulus pulchellus, Convolvulus rubrocoeruleus, Convolvulus venustus, Ipomoea dumetorum, Ipomoea glaucescens, Ipomoea hookeri, Ipomoea oligantha, Ipomoea pulchella, Ipomoea rubro-caerulea, Ipomoea schiedeana, Pharbitis rubro-caerulea, Pharbitis tricolor, Quamoclit mutica.

Try a non-standard move:
1. Place the morning glory deep in the flower bed. To do this, install a pyramidal support there. Such a composition will immediately make the flower garden interesting, complex, and divide it into zones.
2. Weave something “like a ball” out of twigs and throw morning glory on it, place the figure in the center of the lawn - here you have an original author’s work.
3. Cover dried trees and stumps with morning glory.
! By the way, it can also be used as an hanging plant. To do this, morning glory is planted in a container (pot), and the shoots droop down freely - you get a magnificent green cascade! (Just be sure to have good drainage at the bottom of the pot).
Traditionally, morning glory is planted around a gazebo or arch.
