Northern highbush blueberry "Avrora" - Vaccinium corymbosum.
A mid-season variety of highbush blueberries with large, sweet berries. The variety produces stable yields (about 4-5 kg of berries per plant annually) for 20-30 years.
The bush is medium-sized and slightly spreading. Tolerates winter frosts down to -20 °C..-25 °C. Berries weighing 1.5-3.0 g are formed on the shoots of the current and previous year. They are very tasty and healthy when eaten fresh and are suitable for making desserts.
Sowing before winter (in October) with dry seeds is carried out in ridges filled with acidic peat or in spring-stratified. For stratification, the seeds are placed in damp sand and kept for 3 months at temperature +3..+5°С. After 2 years, the seedlings are transplanted into a school with a larger feeding area. And after 1-2 years they are transplanted to a permanent place in the garden.
Peaty, acidic soils, which are unsuitable for most fruit crops, are suitable for its cultivation.
Seedlings (plants from seeds) are highly resistant to diseases, weather changes and other environmental factors.
