Location: preferably sunny, tolerates light partial shade, but in this case it stretches out and needs to be supported.
Soil: needs dry and well-drained. The plant is drought-tolerant.
Propagation: cuttings from woody shoots in spring or green cuttings with a heel in summer.
Use: most decorative in mass plantings. Pale gray stems provide a strong vertical element, and are especially attractive in winter, when they are leafless.
However, Perovskia should be pruned before spring growth begins, as it flowers better on new growth.
As partners in group plantings you can use: roses, asters, wormwoods, echinacea, liatris, mallow and ornamental grasses.
