Poppy "Yellow Peony" - Papaver paeoniflorum.
Unpretentious.
Annual ornamental plant 70-100 cm high. Blooms in June-July for a month. The flowers are densely double, of various colours, and large (10-15 cm in diameter). It is cold-resistant, photophilous, and undemanding to the soil, but does not like heavy, waterlogged soils.
Used for planting in groups, mixborders. It stays cut for a long time.
1.0 g = 2400 seeds.
Agricultural technology.
Sowing seeds is carried out directly in the ground. Seedlings appear on days 7-12, then they are thinned out, leaving 15-20 cm between plants. Sowing can be done at several times with an interval of 2 weeks to obtain flowering plants until autumn.
If, after flowering, some of the boxes are left, then abundant self-seeding occurs. So, having once sown a poppy, in subsequent years it will only be necessary to thin out the emerging shoots.
Poppy care is not burdensome - weeding, loosening, watering in drought, and removing faded flowers. Plant transplants are very poorly tolerated.
