Carrot "Mignon" (Babetka).
A new, early variety (the period from full germination to technical maturity is 65-75 days). The roots are cylindrical, even, 16-18 cm long, bright orange, with a small core, very tender and juicy pulp, and excellent taste. The sugar and carotene content is high, so it is considered one of the best for use in baby food and juice production. It is perfectly stored without losing its taste. The variety harmoniously combines high productivity, resistance to cracking, flowering and major diseases. It is grown in various climatic zones.
Agrotechnics.
Carrots grow better on light loamy and sandy loam soils. The best predecessors are potatoes, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and legumes. In the spring, before sowing, a complex mineral fertilizer is added to the soil. Sowing at the end of April in furrows to a depth of 3-4 cm. The distance between the rows is 18-20 cm. Two weeks after emergence, the carrots are thinned out. The second thinning is carried out when the root crops reach a diameter of 1 cm, leaving 5-6 cm between the plants. Further care consists of weeding, loosening, and watering. Winter sowing is carried out when the temperature drops to +5 °C. (second half of October - early November). The seeds are embedded to a depth of 1-2 cm, the surface of the area is mulched with peat.

* How can small carrot roots be used?
Carrots should be peeled, blanched in boiling water, tightly packed in small sterile glass jars in an upright position and filled with boiling water, to which salt and citric acid have been added (for 1 liter of water, one incomplete teaspoon of salt and citric acid on the tip of a knife). Close the jars with lids and store in the refrigerator.
The carrots retain their flavor and all their beneficial properties until next year's harvest.
The contents of an opened jar should be used within 2-3 days.
