Grow with seedlings, sow at the beginning of May. Plant outdoors after spring frosts. Vegetation period 100-115 days after seedling planted outside. Average weight of fruits 2-3 kg. Pulp is juicy, dense and sweet and has orange colour. Harvest starting from the end of September. Good for storage.
Pumpkin honey.
Ingredients:
• 1 kg peeled pumpkin;
• 200 g sugar;
• cinnamon;
• cloves;
• mint to taste.
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the pumpkin into small pieces and sprinkle with sugar, stir, let stand overnight.
2. By morning a lot of juice will be released, cook over low heat, constantly scooping the juice into another container. At the end of cooking, add cinnamon, cloves or a few sprigs of mint.
3. Transfer the finished honey, which has the consistency of sour cream, into sterile jars and store in a cool place.
Advice: pour the pumpkin juice separated during cooking into sterile bottles and roll up or close with nipples. It goes well with other vegetable and fruit juices, especially apricot and apple.
