Growing guide.
Best soils for pumpkin are sandy and light loam. Sow when the soil warms to 10–12°C. Plant seeds 5–10 cm deep, 2–3 seeds per hole. After emergence, remove weaker plants.
Pumpkin can also be grown from seedlings and transplanted outdoors at about one month old (2–3 true leaves). Vining varieties are sown in rows at 1.4 x 1.0 m. Bush types are sown in a square pattern at 80 x 60 cm.
Care includes pinching side shoots, pinching the main stem after several fruits set, watering, weeding, loosening, and обязательное feeding. To promote additional roots, lightly hill plants with moist soil.
Harvest as fruits mature.

* As a simple preventive measure for prostate health, daily consumption of raw pumpkin seeds on an empty stomach can be recommended (about 20 seeds, or up to 50 g shelled, or 1 tablespoon of ground seeds). Pumpkin juice and pumpkin seed oil may also be helpful for prostate-related issues.
