Red beetroot "Cylindra" - Beta vulgaris L.
Easy harvest!
The variety is mid-season, and the period from germination to the harvesting of root crops is 110-130 days. The variety is high-yielding, transportable, and easy. Saves crop area.
The rosette of leaves is semi-erect, and the leaves are light green.
Root crops are cylindrical, dark red, 10-16 cm long, 5-9 cm in diameter, weighing 180-350 g, with a small pointed tip and a flat surface, easily pulled out of the soil.
The pulp is dark red, without rings, sweet, and has high palatability. The skin is thin. Root crops are immersed in the soil by 1/3-1/4 of their length.
Differs in good keeping quality and resistance to diseases. Productivity is 7-9 kg/sq.m.
Used for storage and conservation.
1 g = 40-60 seeds.
Growing conditions.
Seeds are soaked overnight in water before sowing. The depth of embedding, depending on the type of soil, is 2-4 cm. Placed on loose, deeply cultivated soils.
Sow in the spring when the soil warms up to + 8 + 10 ° С. Sowing depth 2 cm, the distance between rows 30-40 cm. Thinning in the phase of 2-3 true leaves.
After thinning, the distance between plants is 10-15 cm (to get an early harvest for greens and a bunch in our cool climate zone, winter crops can be done).
