Rose rockcress "Rote Sensation" - Arabis blepharophylla Hook. & Arn.
Its homeland is the mountains of California, where it grows at an altitude of 500 m.
A perennial ground cover plant with a height of up to 20 cm and a bush diameter of up to 25 cm. Due to its simple, but very, very bright pink flowers, 2 cm in diameter and gray-pubescent leaves, it is highly decorative not only during flowering but throughout the year. Flowering is abundant and long: April-May.
In cultivation, as a rule, varieties:
"Fruhlingszauber" - with pink flowers and small leaves, 20 cm tall;
"Rote Sensation" - with bright pink flowers, more elongated leaves, 20 cm tall.
Frost resistance zones for this species are Z4-Z9. Shelter for the winter is a must.
Used for alpine slides, rocky walls and balcony boxes. It grows well and will easily fill the gaps between plants.
Agricultural technology.
It is not picky about soil, but prefers loose, moist soil and a sunny location, and tolerates partial shade. Grows quickly and easily from seeds. 1,0 g = 2050 seeds.
Seeds for seedlings are sown in March-April, in open ground in spring or before winter. After the first two true leaves appear, the seedlings dive.
