Romaine lettuce "Gelbus" (Roman lettuce or Cos lettuce).
Heads of cabbage are of excellent quality and have a long shelf life.
Mid-season variety. Medium rosette, raised. The head of cabbage is medium in size. Weight 150-200 g. Leaves are lanceolate, dark green, crispy, juicy.
The variety is characterized by high productivity and a long period of use. Intended for consumption in autumn and winter. At a temperature of +3+4°C it is stored for 2.5-3 months.
To store for the winter, dig up from open ground no earlier than October 15-20 with a lump of earth and store in the basement.
Agricultural technology.
Seeds are sown in the first half of July. Caring for crops consists of shallow loosening of rows, weeding and watering in dry weather.
The irrigation regime affects the concentration of nitrate ions in plants, especially at high temperatures. During the formation of heads of cabbage, watering is carried out only in furrows.
Harvesting is carried out in the evening or early morning, when the plants are cooled and therefore better retain their fresh presentation.
