Native to the Mountains of southeastern British Columbia, northeastern Washington, and northern Idaho.
Perennial evergreen semi-shrub plant with shoots 15-30 cm long and a "cushion" diameter of up to 30 cm. In spring and summer, flowers appear from violet-blue to pale purple in color.
The plant is frost-resistant. Recommended for rock garden. Prune after flowering.
