Snow-white primrose

Snow-white primrose - Primula chionantha.
A fragrant perennial native to the Chinese province of Yunnan. It has been cultivated since 1913 and has been awarded the Award of Garden Merit (A.G.M.) from the Royal Horticultural Society—a mark of the highest quality.

• Flowering period: May – June.

• Flower colour: Predominantly white (sometimes they can be purple).

• Height with flower stalks: Up to 40 cm.

• Foliage: Simple, lanceolate.

• Growth type: Upright, bushy.

Cultivation:

• Hardiness zones: Z4-Z8 (down to -34°C).

• Soil: Moist, well-drained, rich in humus, fertile.

• Use: Ideal for rock gardens (rockeries and alpine gardens).
