A perennial, low-growing plant (height 30-50 cm) with hollow, erect, smooth, sparsely leafed stems.
Natural habitat: in forest-steppes and steppes in the grass of upland and forest meadows, in the mountains - in mountain forest and subalpine belts.
Cultural use: looks great in single plantings, near water, among large stones.
The plants are well preserved when dried and are used to make winter bouquets and compositions, to create a background, in rocky areas.
