The flowers are lilac-pink, collected in a large, paniculate inflorescence. The leaves are double or triple pinnate.
Blooms in July - August for 60-70 days.
The fruit is a leaflet, the seeds are oblong, large, ripen in August. In the middle zone it winters under light cover. Winter-hardy without shelter provided it is planted in well-aerated soils.
Location: is best grown in the shade. In the sun, the color of the inflorescences by the end of June, especially in dry weather, fades and yellow tones appear. With a lack of moisture, the smell of flowers disappears.
Reproduction: by dividing the bush, cuttings and seeds, which are sown in beds before winter. Can be sown in spring in protected soil after a month's stratification. 1.0 g = 450 seeds.
The seedlings are unpretentious, develop quickly, and bloom in the second year. The bushes are divided at the end of April or at the beginning of September and planted at a distance of 40 cm from each other. Plants can grow in one place for up to 10 years or more.

Sowing Instructions: Sow spring to mid-summer in a good seed compost just covering the seed with compost. Germination can take from 1-3 months at 15-21C (60-70F). If germination has not started after 8 weeks they can be pre-chilled which often speeds up germination. To do this seal in a polythene bag, place in a refrigerator 3-5C (37-41 F) for 3 weeks then return to warmth 15-21C (60-75F). Inspect regularly and remove if any start to germinate in the fridge. Seed sown early will often produce flowers the same season. Growing Instructions: Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Move to a coldframe or plunge the pots up to their rims in a sheltered site outdoors and plant out in autumn 30cm (12in) apart in a rich moist, well drained soil, sun or part shade.
