Winged broom - Genista sagittalis.

Origin: Southern Europe: dry meadows, nutrient-poor pastures.
This is a very decorative species - a branched, creeping shrub with evergreen leaves. At the ends of the branches in June - July, bright yellow flowers appear, sitting in terminal racemes. The height of this species is up to 30 cm. It does not require special care. Grows in dry, sandy soil in a sunny area.
​It is propagated by shoots, which are cut at the end of summer and rooted in a greenhouse or in flower pots.
Rare in our gardens, a profusely flowering groundcover plant up to 20 cm high. In a sunny place and poor soils, it forms dense thickets, completely covered with bright yellow flowers, the shape characteristic of legumes. Looks great in the foreground of a mixborder, creating a sunny, joyful mood even in cloudy weather.
Suitable for natural landscape design.

Winters well under snow.Winter hardiness zones: Z4 – Z8.
Recommendations for sowing technique and care:
- seeds need scarification, i.e. violation of the dense seed coat;
- in early spring, sow in seedling beds or containers with loose, water- and breathable soil, avoiding thickening;
- ensure regular watering, loosening, shade from direct sunlight, and, if necessary, dig into more nutritious soil;
- plant the grown seedlings in a permanent place in the evening or in cloudy weather, water well and mulch;
- in the spring, fertilize with a complete mineral fertilizer with microelements, in the summer it is advisable to add wood ash, from time to time it is useful to add fine gravel, coarse sand and well-rotted compost;
- at the end of flowering, carefully trim all faded shoots without disturbing the base of the bush.
