From its history: This old variety was sent to Craig LeHoullier in 1989 by Brenda Hillenius from Oregon, who received the seeds from her grandfather Kenneth Wilcox, who in turn had received them from a Russian immigrant.
It became one of the most popular varieties in the USA. The first fruits are lighter and medium in size, while the subsequent ones are much larger and more intensely red-pink. The flesh is meaty, juicy, sweet, and of excellent flavor.
