* This tomato variety was discovered by Ron Driskill, a horticulture teacher at Jack James Secondary School in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
This discovery occurred during a sale at a local nursery. A nursery worker told him a story about a woman from the Soviet Union who, in 1975, traveled through Canada and left behind a dozen seeds of this variety, which is now known to have originated in Siberia.
Growing Conditions.
The plant thrives in warmth and light. It is grown from seedlings. The seedlings are planted at a depth of 1-2 cm. At an optimal temperature of +20+25°C, seedlings emerge in 5 days. Picking occurs when the plants have 2-3 true leaves. The seedlings are ready for planting 40-50 days after sowing. They are planted in fertile, light, neutral soil.
Care consists of watering as needed (especially before flowering, when the ovaries appear, and when the fruit begins to ripen), loosening the soil, and fertilizing.
