Wild Water Mint - Mentha palustris = Mentha aquatica.
A common marsh plant that can be cultivated in artificial reservoirs without any problems.
It grows as a creeping plant and can be used to camouflage the shore of a pond. It takes root well and grows quickly. It is better to grow it in a basket and shorten the elongated stems (otherwise it may choke out neighboring plants).
The pubescent, rounded leaves sometimes acquire a reddish tint and, when rubbed, emit a characteristic minty smell. In mid or late summer it blooms with small light lilac flowers, collected in miniature fluffy inflorescences that attract bees. Plant height is 30-50 cm, planting depth is up to 8 cm.
Reproduction: by dividing bushes in spring.
Natural flowering period: VII-X (first year flowering).
Winter hardiness zones: Z4-8.
Pink-lilac, entire plant strongly aromatic. Medicinal plant.
1,0 g = 7000 seeds.

Wild water mint, bergamot mint, lemon mint, orange mint, water capitate mint, water mint. Bot. syn.: Mentha citrata Ehrh., Mentha litoralis (Hartm.), Mentha palustris Mill., Mentha piperita L. ssp. citrata (Ehrh.) Briq.
