Watermelon "Russian birch".
Beautiful on the outside, honeyed on the inside.
Climbing plants form the first harvest in an average period - 85-90 days after emergence.
The weight of one fruit in greenhouses in the middle zone is about 3-5 kg, in the southern regions - 7-12 kg. By limiting the number of ovaries on a plant and good agricultural technology, the maximum weight of the berry reaches 25 kg. The pulp is dense, honey-sweet, the seeds are medium-sized.
In protected ground, as small watermelons grow, they must be tied up or carefully secured with netting material; in open ground, insulating material must be placed under the fruit. The products are well transported and stored for 2 months after harvesting.
In greenhouses, plants are tied to a trellis and formed into one stem. All side shoots up to a height of 50 cm are removed, subsequent shoots are pinched after the 3rd leaf.
In the morning, it is recommended to carry out additional pollination of flowers. In open ground, leave 3-4 ovaries and pinch off the top.
