Watermelon "Sugary Lightning" F1.
An excellent ultra-early hybrid that easily ripens in central Russia. The plant is short-climbing, the length of the main vine does not exceed 1.8 m.
The leaf is small, strongly dissected, with narrow lobes. The fruit is spherical, black-green, with a hidden pattern, weighing 1.7-2.3 kg. The bark is very thin.
The scarlet “honey” pulp is tender, sugary, juicy, very sweet and aromatic.
The value of the hybrid: resistance to low spring temperatures, early and friendly yield of the crop, unpretentious cultivation.
Agrotechnics.
Sowing seedlings - in early May. Planting in open ground - at the end of May - beginning of June, in the phase of 3-4 true leaves. Planting pattern 100x100 cm.
In the southern regions it can be grown by direct sowing in the ground in April - May. When grown under film covers, plants are formed into one stem (all side shoots are removed to a height of 50 cm, subsequent ones are pinched over 1-3 leaves), tied to a trellis.
For good growth and abundant fruiting, plants need timely watering, regular weeding and fertilizing with mineral fertilizers.
