Elegant zinnia "Cherry Queen" - Zinnia elegans.
Amazing cherry fireballs!
Tall, profusely flowering variety of zinnia with very large (Ø12-14 cm) double inflorescences. Plants erect, strong, up to 70 cm high, with strong peduncles. Flowering is early and long. Zinnias are unpretentious and drought-resistant, preferring a sunny location. Wind resistant. Used for growing in flowerbeds, flowerbeds in group and single plantings. An ideal cut crop: the flowers stand in water for a long time, retaining their vibrant color. Blooms from July to September.
1,0 g = 110-130 seeds.

Agricultural technology.
The plant prefers a sunny place, fertile, loose soil. Propagated by sowing seeds in March-April in seedling boxes.
Planting depth - 0.5 cm. At a soil temperature of +22+25°C, shoots appear on the 7-10th day. Seedlings are picked into pots. Seedlings are planted in open ground when the threat of spring frosts has passed, maintaining a distance of 20-30 cm between plants.
Sowing.
Grown using seedlings. With the development of the first pair of true leaves, seedlings are picked. In the phase of 5-6 leaves, formative pinching is carried out.
Seedlings are planted in open ground when the danger of frost has passed. Plants need regular watering, weeding, loosening and fertilizing. It is possible to sow seeds in open ground to a depth of 1 cm.

Elegant zinnia. Bot. syn.: Crassina elegans, Zinnia violacea.

* Features of zinnia growth.
As a tropical flower, zinnia prefers to grow in open places illuminated by the sun throughout the day.
It is in such places that the features and beauty of varieties are fully revealed. In semi-shaded places, plants stretch out, inflorescences develop poorly, become smaller, darken and rot.
The main enemy of zinnia is cold rainy weather: plants stop blooming, dark necrotic spots appear on leaves and flowers, and there is a risk of "black leg" disease.
Otherwise, zinnias are very unpretentious and grateful plants. They grow on any light loamy soils and love abundant watering, respond well to fertilizing with mineral fertilizers.
Excess organic matter, as with most plants, leads to active growth of green mass to the detriment of flowering. Plants are drought-resistant, but in a dry summer without watering they quickly fade.
