Soil: Well drained
Description: Attractive deep pink flowers stand out against glossy dark green foliage of this unusual Oenothera. Ideal for borders or containers. Flowers open early in the morning and evening when cooler. In 2nd year height may increase to 12-18 inches.
Sowing Instructions.
Sowing Time: February to June or September to October. Sow seed in pots
or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of
compost or vermiculite. Keep at a constant temperature of between
15-20C. During germination, allow the temperature to reduce at
night. This will occur naturally if using a heated propagator is
avoided. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination.
Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination
will usually take 14-30 days.
Growing Instructions: When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 23-30cm (9-12in) apart. For best results, provide any ordinary, well-drained soil in full sun.
