California poppy (mix) - Eschscholzia californica.
A delicate plant with bluish-green openwork leaves, forming a lush bush.
The flowers are broadly cupped, simple, 4 cm in diameter, solitary, on long peduncles, with a yellow, luminous centre and a silky sheen.
They are open only in sunny weather, and in cloudy weather and in the evening they are closed.
Blooms profusely from June to September: flowering is abundant and long, until the first frost.
Photophilous, cold-resistant, relatively drought-resistant, does not tolerate waterlogging.
Effective in discounts, group plantings, on Moorish lawns, rocky hills.
Works well in bouquets.
Growing conditions.
Seeds are sown immediately in a permanent place, as the plants do not tolerate transplantation. The soil should be loose, and permeable. At the optimum germination temperature of +10+15°C shoots appear on the 10-14th day. Place in an open sunny position with well-drained soil. The culture is cold-resistant, drought-resistant, and unpretentious. Do not tolerate excess moisture and freshly fertilized soil.
Sowing in a permanent place: April (2.3) - May (1.2).
Cannot tolerate a transplant.
Growing is not difficult even for beginner gardeners.
