Growing Guide.
Sowing: March–April – outdoors for seedlings.
Seeds require stratification: sow seeds no deeper than 0.5 cm, moisten with a sprayer, cover with glass, and place in the refrigerator (+5…+7°C). Keep the seeds under these conditions for 7-14 days, then move them to room temperature.
Monitor moisture and ventilation. At +18…+20°C, seedlings emerge in 14-20 days. Prick out seedlings when they develop 2-3 pairs of true leaves. If germination fails, repeat the "cold-warm" procedure in the same sequence. Transplant seedlings outdoors, spacing them 30-40 cm apart.
Care: Prefers sunny, warm locations and light, well-drained soils. Does not tolerate waterlogging or stagnant water. Maintenance includes periodic watering, fertilizing, and loosening the soil.
Flowering: When sown outdoors – August–September; when started as seedlings – July–August.
